Some of the lens connectors from the QPC company are based on the MIL-DTL-83526/20/21 standard, allowing them to be connected to connectors from other manufacturers that meet this standard. These connectors are characterized by relatively high insertion loss, up to 2 dB. (in the case of single-mode optical fibers), a temperature range of -45 to +85 °C, but with a high number of connection and disconnection cycles, around 3000 to 5000 times. They are also less sensitive to contamination because the lenses responsible for expanding the light beam do not come into contact with each other.

Lens connectors can be used where a frequent number of connections and disconnections is required, especially in field conditions where they can easily become dirty. One of the very interesting QPC solutions for onboard connectors with anti-rotation feature for easy installation is the two-channel connector from the QMicro family, available under the following codes:

  • QMICROLC-RJHN-02SM-09 for single-mode optical fibers,
  • QMICROLC-RJHN-02MM-09 for multimode optical fibers.

Its undeniable advantage is having LC adapters on its rear, allowing for quick connection of patch cords without the need for connector termination. This enables rapid replacement.
